Take Stock in Pearl Harbor is a campaign to restore and protect the hallowed ground and landmarks that weathered the attack on Pearl Harbor during WWII. A contribution to Take Stock in Pearl Harbor collectively supports the four non-profit organizations that protect the cherished, historic sites along with the stories of determination, patriotism and commitment of “Our greatest Generation”. It is our responsibility to pass on their legacy.

USS Arizona Memorial

From Engagement to Peace

"AIR RAID PEARL HARBOR THIS IS NO DRILL." These were the first words broadcast as the Japanese air raid began on Pearl Harbor.

Fifteen minutes into the attack on Oahu and Pearl Harbor, the USS Arizona was attacked. The bombing killed 1,177 marines and sailors on board. The memorial pays homage to those who gave their last full measure of devotion. The monument preserves and interprets their lives and all the stories of the Pacific War, from the internment of Japanese Americans to the battles in the Aleutians.

Battleship Missouri Memorial

Heart of Missouri

"AIR RAID PEARL HARBOR THIS IS NO DRILL." These were the first words broadcast as the Japanese air raid began on Pearl Harbor.

USS Missouri is the site where World War II formally ended. It is an obligation to future generations, an inspiration to millions of visitors, and it is quite simply America’s Battleship. Retired to Pearl Harbor after Operation Desert Storm, her active naval service may be complete but her legacy is not forgotten. She now serves as the centerpiece of the Battleship Missouri Memorial.

USS Bowfin Submarine Museum&Park

The Pearl Harbor Avenger

"AIR RAID PEARL HARBOR THIS IS NO DRILL." These were the first words broadcast as the Japanese air raid began on Pearl Harbor.

USS Bowfin (SS-287) is a fleet attack submarine that fought in the Pacific during WWII, and helped to make famous the term, “Silent Service.” Bowfin was launched exactly one year after the attack on Pearl Harbor, with the nickname Pearl Harbor Avenger. The USS Bowfin is one of only fifteen surviving U.S. WWII submarines that was not turned into scrap metal or used for target practice.

The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum on Historic Ford Island occupies two hangars and the Ford Island Control Tower that still bear the scars of our nation's aviation battlefield. For nearly seven decades, these historic landmarks have proudly stood guard over Pearl Harbor and Ford Island, but weather, corrosion and neglect have taken a drastic toll, threatening to erase this symbol of American resilience and sacrifice.
